On Sunday, December 5, 2010 at approximately 1:20a.m. Allegheny County 9-1-1 received a report of a residential structure fire at 144 Davidson Street in Tarentum. Summit Hose (Station 282), Eureka Hose (Station 281), Highland Hose (Station 280) and Eureka EMS were dispatched on the assignment.
282 Chief arrived on the scene and assumed command, reporting smoke showing from the 2nd division of a two-story wood frame residential, all occupants had evacuated. 281 Engine laid a supply line into the scene.
Crews advanced attack lines and made a quick aggressive interior attack, as the roof crew performed ventilation operations. Crews quickly knocked down the fire and checked for further extension.
American Red Cross responded to the scene to assist the displaced family of 4 with clothing and temporary housing. The Allegheny County Fire Marshal was called to the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
