Two St Petersburg officers shot and killed U.S. Marshal wounded





On Monday morning, January 24, 2011 St. Petersburg Florida Officers and U.S. Marshals went to 3734 28th Avenue South to attempt to execute an arrest warrant on Hydra Lacy Jr. During the execution of the arrest warrant there was a shoot-out ensued in the attic area of the residence where Lacy was armed and hiding. K9 Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz was shot and fell in the attic and the U.S. Marshal was shot and fell to the ground. As Sgt. Thomas Baitinger  and other officers were attempting to rescue the downed officers, Lacy opened fire from the attic shooting through the ceiling, fatally striking Sgt. Baitinger. SWAT teams made entry and searched the residence looking for Lacy after the fallen officers were rescued from the house. Lacy's body was found in the rubble several hours later. R.I.P. Officer Yaslowitz and Sgt. Baitinger.
